The first is you want to help people be as successful as you have been. There are so many great branch managers out there, but there are a lot of branch managers who are more worried about their own production than the people that are reporting to them.

The second is you have to attract the right people that are looking to grow their business and hire them. Recruiting shouldn’t be about selling. It should be about attracting the right people to your team that wants to grow their business and the right people that you can actually help.

And three, you have to be a marketer. Most people right now in this business are struggling to market themselves because they don’t have the tools or the know-how to do it.

If you’re a leader, you have to be helping the people that report to you. Be a better marketer, show them the mechanics, give them the plan, show them the strategy, and watch them grow their business.”
