This is a hack on how you can make the audience feel like you’re actually talking to them as a single person. There’s a few people that do this really, really well, and it happens a lot in the stories where I’m watching a story and I feel like the person is actually talking to me. And when I feel like that, what I do is I actually dm them or I’ll make a comment because it’s very seldom that I feel like the person speaking to me. What this person has done is figured out how to turn their audience into one person, and they do that by building an avatar.

So what I am doing is looking into the camera and looking at one person and thinking about one person that I know who I actually want to work with and help educate instead of looking at it in terms of a broad audience. A big mistake is pretending you’re talking to an audience on stage.

If you can figure out a way to look into the camera and actually talk to a person instead of an audience, then your content’s going to feel a lot more personal and a lot more authentic for the person watching your video.
